ABOUT NSAP

The Nebraska State Association of Parliamentarians (NSAP) is a state association of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) a dynamic organization concerned with the practical problems parliamentarians face today. NAP is the oldest and largest professional non-profit association of parliamentarians in the world. NAP's primary objectives are teaching, promoting, and disseminating the philosophy and principles underlying the rules of deliberative assemblies.

The goals of NAP are to:
  • encourage its members and the general public to learn the principles and practice of democratic decision-making;
  • help teachers instruct people of all ages—from public and private school students to active professionals to retirees involved in their communities— in parliamentary procedure at all levels;
  • promote collaboration and professional development among parliamentarians; and
  • provide widely recognized, authoritative accreditation of parliamentarians serving the general public.
